The sea is huge. The coasts are very diverse in form.
Peninsula
If the coastal cliffs are not too hard, the waves destroy their shore and it becomes flat. And, for example, water cannot damage a high mountain range, and a peninsula forms on this place - part of the land protruding into the sea, surrounded by it on three sides. And only one side is connected to the mainland.
Isle
There are many islands in the seas. Part of the land, surrounded on all sides by water, can be the top of a seamount, whose foot is on the seabed. There are islands very tiny and huge, such as, for example, Greenland - the largest island in the world.
Interesting fact: tiny mollusks build their houses (corals) one on top of the other. Over time, you get a whole city of billions of empty houses. It rises from the water, like a real island, and is called the atoll.
Such an island has the shape of a ring with a lagoon inside. Several atolls, combined in a chain, form a reef. Off the coast of Australia there is a Great Barrier Reef with a length of 2 thousand kilometers!
The bay
When the sea flows into the land and floods the coastal territories, a gulf is formed. Here the waves are not as high as in the open sea, and the ships find a reliable shelter.
